I photographed Krystyna and Kyle’s engagement session at Edwards Gardens in Toronto. We had some beautiful autumn colours and brilliant light to work with. I find it amusing that so many of my couples tell me that they are not photogenic and they seem almost apologetic about it. As I go through the photos I often wonder what makes some people think that. Every single person is photogenic. Whether its inner beauty or outer beauty or a great smile or intense eyes or anything else. We all have it. Sometimes hidden, sometimes right out there for all to see. One aspect of engagement photography that I really love is that these personal characteristics often come out because of each other. It sometimes takes your significant other to elicit that shy, playful look or that ear to ear grin. Or countless other emotions that I wish to capture for you. Like always I shot a roll of medium format film with my digital ones and on this occasion it was Kodak Portra 400 on my Pentax 645n. Scanned by the fine folks at The Find Lab. Here are some photos.
