Where to begin? On one side we have Lindsay, from the United States and on the other, Sunil, from India. They had met in London, England! And this weekend they joined together and became husband and wife. Their families and friends mixed together and it was great to witness the different cultures unite in harmony. The first day had the Indian wedding at a temple in Scarborough. The ladies were dressed in gorgeous saris full of colors and intricate designs. There was a procession in the parking lot with music, drums, dancing, singing and lots of laughter. You can’t help but feel the energy and pulse as I wove in and out of the crowd, capturing frames here and there. It was also one of those very bright and ultra humid days in Toronto as well. Afterwards, Lindsay arrived and was married to Sunil in the Temple. It was a beautiful and very colourful ceremony which I felt honored to witness. We then took some family portraits and I thought it would never end as there were easily over 500 people there and everyone wanted to be part of the group photos 🙂 Then there was some food and then preparation for the next day.
This is a fairly long blog post. I recommend a nice hot cup of coffee or tea.
DAY 1
The next day was just as hot as the previous one with sweltering heat. Sunil and Lindsay were getting ready at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Toronto. We took some shots there and then headed over to their venue which is the iconic Berkeley Church on Queen street east. Here this couple was married for a second time with a Christian Ceremony that was performed on the upper floor of Berkeley. I loved the anticipation of both Sunil and Lindsay for their First Look. They had planned this and had not seen each other the entire day. I spent time with both of them prior to them seeing each other and I felt the nervous excitement they both had in their great anticipation of this moment. More photos followed by food, drink, speeches and of course lots and lots of dancing. Enjoy the photos.
