I shot Sophie and Bryan’s engagement pictures on a warm October evening. They chose a fantastic location and it was a lot of fun making these photos. I had previously photographed Sophie’s sister’s wedding, so it was cool to do this. Sophie and Bryan are in a bunch of those photos as well. *Interesting tidbit – little did I know that when I photographed Stephanie’s wedding that I would book 3 couples for next year from that wedding! And those couples were all featured in that blog post.* I’m very much looking forward their wedding next summer. Most of these photos were shot on my Canon 5D Mark II camera, and a few were shot on my Pentax 645n medium format camera. I used Fuji Reala 100 film and it was scanned by The Canadian Film Lab. On a warm October evening I took Anca and David’s engagement photos at the downtown University of Toronto campus. Here are some of my favourite photos from that session.
I had a fantastic time documenting Bianca and Kamil’s wedding, just north of Toronto. I had Mike Swiegot help me out and a few of the images below were clicked by him. Most of the images were captured on my Canon digital cameras and I did manage to shoot a couple of rolls of 35mm film on my Contax G2 camera. They were shot on Portra 400 film and scanned by The Find Lab. Here are some of my favourite photos from this day.
At the beginning of August I travelled with my wife and son to Mont Tremblant, Quebec. We took the VIA Train from Union Station in Toronto to Montreal. That was a comfortable 5-hr ride. In Montreal we took a bus to Mont Tremblant and that was about two and a half hours. Mont Tremblant is a ski resort and is also an amazing family place to visit during the summer. We stayed there for 5 nights and did a bunch of activities with the almost-4 year old. From luge to hiking to paddle boating to swimming in Lac Tremblant it was a great time. I really enjoyed the almost 15-min long panoramic gondola ride that took us high up to Mont Tremblant summit. The Mont Tremblant Village is very colourful and has a bit of an European feel to it with the cobblestone paths as well. Tons of restaurants and bars here as well that make it enjoyable to relax a bit after so many activities. My favourite was the Microbrasserie La Diable and my favourite beer was the Blizzard which was quite refreshing on a hot day. I took all these photos on my Contax G2 35mm film camera. I used Kodak Ektar 100, Kodak Portra 400, 800 and 1 roll of Cinestill BWxx black and white film. All scanned by The Find Lab.
I took engagement photos for Pam and Paul in a little historic town called Unionville which is a suburban village of Markham, just east of Toronto. This place was founded in 1794 and does have that ‘small-town’ charm. Lots of bars/restaurants to enjoy here as you walk down the main street. Had a lot of fun documenting this couple at this location. Here are some favourite photos from this session.
