On a warm autumn day in Toronto I visited Fernando and Christina at their home for a family photo session. They have 2 young children – Ben & Sofia – one of whom I had photographed previously. Since the weather was still pretty nice we drove to a nearby park for some more shots. Its always a challenge photographing children because, well..they don’t always listen and might not be on board with the photo ideas. However, if they are engaged in an activity or preoccupied in some way, its always special to capture those moments. Here are some photos from the day.
It was a cold and windy day for this engagement session in downtown Toronto and U of T. Regardless of the weather it was a pleasure to photograph. So many colours and rich greens at the University of Toronto campus that you just can’t go wrong. At least I had my jacket on – Rena and Nick would take theirs off for the photos. Here are some photos from that day.
Where to begin? This wedding was special to me for a number of reasons – first and foremost being that David is my brother. He married Katie, the girl of his dreams, and it was an honour to document their day. They chose Playa del Carmen over Toronto and I can’t say I wasn’t happy with that decision. Our family was there along with our cousins who live in America and friends and family of Katie and David. Spending a few days at the splendid Playacar Palace Resort, surrounded by friends and family is awesome. My wife and 2-yr old son were there too, and I couldn’t be happier.
The day of the wedding was about 35°C with a chance of thundershowers. It was hot and humid and I loved it! Of course the Bride was a littler nervous about that but after some early afternoon thundershowers, the skies quickly cleared and the raindrops dried off and we were good for the rest of the night… Or so we thought. I’ll get to that in a second. The Ceremony where David and Katie were married was about a 10-min drive from the Resort. It was a church located at the top of a cliff and it was a beautiful location to get married in, to say the least. Our portraits were taken on cobblestone walkways and historic Mayan ruins and finally we finished by the ocean among some Coconut trees. After that we moved to the outdoor Reception right on the beach, just steps from the ccean. The weather cooperated until David began his speech. Then the rains came and when it rains it pours. We all ran inside the Resort and had the rest of the wedding in Reception Plan B followed by Reception Plan C and it all really did work out in the end. Thank you David and Katie for trusting me to capture your day and it really was an unforgettable experience. Here are some photos from that day.
Katie and Gerald wanted to include their dog for the engagement session – and I was all for it. We shot near their condo in downtown Toronto and finished up near Lake Ontario. I had a fabulous time with this couple and the weather wasn’t too bad either. Here are some photos from the day.
On a pleasant autumn day in Toronto I had the pleasure of photographing Clare and Michael’s wedding. They were married at Trinity College Chapel at the University of Toronto campus downtown. It is a very tall and beautiful church which is perfect for photography as the white stone walls reflect light and look amazing as well. Afterwards we took our portraits at the U of T campus which is full of old, historic buildings that are covered in vines and lovely fall colours. The weather held up as well, as just before we went to Mercatto Restaurant for the Reception, there were a few drops of rain. All in all, it was a great day and here are some photos:
