On this day there was a 40% chance of rain and unfortunately it rained for quite a bit including the beginning of this session. It was at High Park in Toronto and we found some shelter under the trees. The rain faded to very light rain and then stopped all together. Rebecca is almost a year and a half old and once she was free from her stroller, loved nothing more than walking. We took some pictures and near the end just as we were finishing up she fell asleep as you can see in the very last image. Here are some of my favourite photos from this session.
I have attended a couple of Toronto FC games in the past but this was the first time that I brought a camera with me. I brought along my compact Contax G2 35mm film camera along with the Zeiss 28mm f2.8 & 45mm f2 lenses and shot Kodak Ektar 100. I slightly over-overexposed and this tends to make skin tones a bit reddish. All those red jerseys didn’t help, in that respect, either 🙂 It was a great game with Toronto FC winning 3-1 so I was happy to get some crowd reactions after each score. A storm was predicted and near halftime the skies opened and it started pouring. We were wearing rain ponchos which helped though we still got a bit drenched. I took a few photos during the downpour but didn’t want to risk the camera too much. Here are some photos from this day.

Great work!! I love that last image especially- the fog/rain… awesome!
This session was at one of my favourite places in Toronto. James and Cristina decided on High Park for their engagement photos. The park is huge and has so much variety in there. I could happily shoot there every single time. James brought his son Caleb along and we included him in a few of these photos. Here are some of my favourite photos from the session.
Melissa was Baptized at a Greek Church, a little bit east of Toronto. It was, as always, an honour to document this Ceremony. Here are some of my favourite photos from that day.

Really sweet record of such a big memory for this young family. That last frame though, that is so, so precious!
I was contacted by Tremaine a few weeks ago to photograph a surprise proposal which would hopefully turn into an engagement session. The couple lives in Ohio, USA and were in Toronto for a few days. He loved the idea of surprising Andria at Casa Loma. I was definitely on board. The plan was to shoot for about 15-20 minutes so that the couple would get more at ease and comfortable for the photos and for Tremaine to find a good spot to pop his question. We agreed that he would give me the thumbs-up while facing Andria when he was ready and satisfied with the location. At that point in time I was to announce that I have to change my lens and to step away from them a little bit to give them more space and privacy. And to make the moment a little more genuine in that I wanted the couple to just forget about me and focus on each other. If I had been 5 feet away it wouldn’t have been as good. For some reason Andria was doing “The Robot” and this gave Tremaine a moment to pull out the ring from his pocket and get down on one knee, completely surprising Andria. She said yes. 😀 It was very special to document the raw emotions that the couple displayed. Here are some photos from the session including the sequence during the proposal.
